Your Week Ahead: April 20 to April 27

More typical spring-like weather continues during this time with a few chances of rain and storms along with a decent warming trend.

Temperature Trends: Temperatures will average a little above normal.
Precipitation Trends:
Precipitation will average a little below normal.
Weekend Pattern:
The main focus will be on a strong storm system, which will be moving away from our region. Dry air coming in from the north will help to suppress any precipitation to our south and east through the majority of the weekend. A fast moving disturbance may bring a sprinkle or two on Sunday; however, the better chances will probably stay to our north.
Early to Midweek Pattern:
As high pressure advances to the east, a warm front will move into the Midwest with the best chance of rain staying to our west on Monday and Tuesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase Wednesday or Thursday as the frontal boundary stalls in the area. Temperatures also look warmer during this time with more of a southern flow developing.
Late Week Pattern:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are certainly possibly by late Friday and Saturday as the front will still be in the area.
Cooler temperatures expected Friday with highs temps only in the upper 40’s to low 50’s with a gusty wind off the lake. Overall, temps will average below normal this weekend with highs in the 50’s and lows in the mid to upper 30’s. A decent warm-up is in our future with highs back in the 60’s and 70’s by the middle and end of the week.

Severe Weather Outlook: A few storms may become strong to possibly severe by the end of the period.
