A Start to Christmas: Lessons and Carols for Advent

To kick off the Christmas season, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church invites the community to a service of Lessons and Carols on the second Sunday of Advent, December 4, at 4 p.m; the prelude is at 3:30 p.m.  This annual celebration of music by the St. Luke’s choir is the first one under the direction of Andrew Lewis, the church’s new choir master.  The organist is Christine Kraemer.

This festive service extends the hope and joy of Christmas through the readings and music of the season including choir anthems by Palestrina, Praetorius, Ravenscroft, Ord, Amner, Poston Willan, Hanson, Lindley and Tavener and carols for congregation, choir and organ.

A reception follows in the Great Hall. Childcare is available for young children.
