Bach Week Festival Concert

The 38th annual Bach Week Festival's second and final concert will take place at  Nichols Concert Hall at the Music Institute of Chicago in Evanston.  The program includes Bach’s challenging Cello Suite in E-flat Major, BWV 1010, with cellist Katinka Kleijn; Concerto in C Minor for Two Harpsichords, BWV 1060, with keyboard artists Jason Moy and Richard Webster; and rarely heard "Easter Oratorio," BWV 249, with soprano Patrice Michaels, mezzo-soprano Emily Lodine, tenor William Watson, and bass Douglas Anderson, with the Bach Week Festival Orchestra and Chorus.

The evening’s salute to the British royal wedding will be George Frideric Handel’s Coronation Anthem "Zadok the Priest," HWV 258, for chorus and orchestra. The piece, about five minutes long, has been performed at every British coronation since 1727.
