Book Sale

The Evanston Public Library's Holiday Book Sale is taking place this weekend. On Sunday, December 11, the Book Sale will take place from noon until 5:30 pm. All books and media will be sold at half-price.

The sale features hundreds of items in excellent condition that would make great holiday gifts. It is also a place that booklovers can choose some great stories to escape into during the long winter season.

The book sale is entirely run by 14 dedicated volunteers and additional community supporters who take great pride in providing Evanston residents with a wide assortment of books and media. According to Book Sale Volunteer Barbara Handler, "We have over a dozen categories of books which are arranged by their sub-categories on our shelves... We also have CDs, DVDs, audio book and VHS tapes."

Proceeds from the sale directly benefit the Evanston Public Library. The sale takes place in the third floor Book Sale room of the Main Library located at 1703 Orrington Avenue. For more information, call 847/448-8600.

Want to donate books, audio books, DVDs or CDs? The Book Sale volunteers are always looking for gently used books and media. Plus, it is tax-deductible donation.
