Book Sale

The Evanston Public Library's Holiday Book Sale takes place Friday, December 9 through Sunday, December 11. The sale features hundreds of items in excellent condition that would make great holiday gifts. It is also a place that booklovers can choose some great stories to escape into during the long winter season.

The book sale is entirely run by 14 dedicated volunteers and additional community supporters who take great pride in providing Evanston residents with a wide assortment of books and media. According to Book Sale Volunteer Barbara Handler, "We have over a dozen categories of books which are arranged by their sub-categories on our shelves... We also have CDs, DVDs, audio book and VHS tapes."

The Book Sale runs Friday, December 9 from noon until 5:30 pm and on Saturday, December 10 from 10 am until 5:30 pm. On Sunday, December 11 from noon until 5:30 pm all books and media will be sold at half-price.

All proceeds from the sale directly benefit the Evanston Public Library. The sale takes place in the third floor Book Sale room of the Main Library located at 1703 Orrington Avenue. For more information, call 847/448-8600.

Want to donate books, audio books, DVDs or CDs? The Book Sale volunteers are always looking for gently used books and media. Plus, it is tax-deductible donation.
