Day of Celebration Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre and Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through music, dance and excerpts from his speeches.

   The day promises to be inspiring, as well as entertaining, with Master of Ceremony Aubrey Marquez and special guest artists: The Evanston Children’s Choir; Ajoite Drum & Percussion and the Glass Family Drummers along with dancer Jocelyn Davis; Evanston Community Drill Team; Christ Temple Praise Dancers; blues guitarist Vince Agwada; members of the FJT Teen Drama Club; and the Fleetwood-Jourdain Singing Fourtet.

   Guest speakers are Evanston Mayor Elizabeth B. Tisdahlxx; Alderman Delores A. Holmes; Rev. Kenneth Cherry; former Evanston Mayor Lorraine H. Morton; and Jeanne Sparrow, host of “You & Me This Morning,” WCIU channel 26, “The U.”  847/448-8254.
