ETHS students chosen for Northshore Honor Bands concert
Twenty-six student musicians from Evanston Township High School (ETHS) will join students from nine other area high schools in a special concert on Saturday, January 14, at Lake Forest High School, 1285 McKinley Rd. in Lake Forest. The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 3pm.
Students were chosen to perform in the Northshore Honor Bands based on recommendations from their high school’s band directors, one band made up of freshmen and sophomores, the other comprised of juniors and seniors. Under the baton of two guest conductors from Northwestern University: Timothy Robblee, Associate Director of Bands, and Daniel Farris, Assistant Director of Bands, the students will spend two days in rehearsal, culminating in the concert on January 14.
High schools involved in the Northshore Honor Bands consortium are ETHS, Deerfield, Glenbrook North and South, New Trier, Highland Park, Niles North and West, Lake Forest, and Stevenson.
