Evanston History Center's 36th Annual Mother's Day Housewalk

It is finally spring and that can only mean one thing at the Evanston History Center. The 36th annual Mother’s Day house walk will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 12– 5 PM and will feature houses in Evanston’s Lake Shore Historic District.

Since its inception, EHC’s house walk has embodied the best of history and architecture. This year we bring you several private homes, including a stunning 1899 Myron Hunt home. This magnificent home was originally built as a coach house in 1892 and converted into a single-family home is 1962. Also on the walk is a fabulous 25-room house, modeled on Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s home in Cambridge, MA built in 1894. The house walk includes interior viewing of all the houses on the walk.

Your support of the House Walk benefits EHC programs and preservation of Evanston’s History.
