Shoppers, get ready to hit the sidewalks of downtown Evanston and the Chicago/Dempster district this weekend during The Evanston Sidewalk Sale + Artwalk! Independent retailers and national chains will set up shop with too- good- to- resist deals on the sidewalks of both districts. Expect to find great deals on apparel, shoes, one-of-a-kind accessories and decorative arts, including the best in specialty and hand-crafted goods.

New this year, local artists have been invited to be a part of the action in downtown Evanston (Artwalk in downtown Evanston only). Participating artists will be set up alongside downtown retail locations and in front of restaurants and service businesses displaying paintings, jewelry, ceramics, sculptures, photography and more for the public to peruse, enjoy and purchase! Artists will display their wares in downtown Evanston on Saturday from 10 – 5pm and Sunday from 11 – 5pm.
Local musicians, Northwestern’s Theatre and Interpretation Center’s Lyle The Crocodile, lululemon athletica, Whole Foods Market and Music Institute of Chicago SWAT Team Singers will take to a stage in Fountain Square to offer free entertainment all weekend long! Lululemon athletica will be hosting complimentary yoga and zumba classes throughout the weekend and Whole Foods will be running a summer cooking demonstration on Saturday. The Evanston Sidewalk Sale + Artwalk is accessible via public transit. To get to downtown Evanston take the CTA Purple Line “el” to Davis or the Metra to the Davis stop, to get to the Chicago/Dempster district take The CTA Purple Line “el” to Dempster or Main or the Metra to the Main stop.
