JOY TO THE WORLD: A HOLIDAY FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

Usher in the Christmas season at “Joy to the World:  A Holiday Festival of the Arts,” to be held on Sunday, December 4, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Evanston (UCC).

The event will take place in the church sanctuary at Hinman Avenue and Grove Street.

The afternoon’s festivities will start with music, including performances by the church’s renowned chancel choir, along with soloists and instrumentalists.  The program will cover a wide range of composers from Paul Halley and Dave Brubeck to traditional Christmas music.  It also will include carol singing by everyone!

Following the music portion of the afternoon, attendees will be invited to browse the church’s “art gallery,” featuring work of members and friends of the church, from children to adults, some of whom are professional artists.  The exhibit will include paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry and other media, most of which will be available for purchase.  Refreshments will be served.

The art show will continue on December 11 and December 18 after the church’s 10:00 a.m. Sunday worship service.
