Megon McDonough

Beloved local singer-songwriter Megon McDonough will astound audiences with her heartfelt songs, rich, engaging voice and humorous stories at an upcoming performance on Sunday, Aug. 21 at Space in Evanston. Over the years, Megon has been acclaimed for her broad vocal abilities, shining in everything from jazz to country to cabaret. In the first half of this concert, Megon will be returning to her roots as a folk singer-songwriter, emoting the purity and clarity that comes from just a girl and a guitar. In the second half, Megon will be showcasing her jazz and cabaret talents with the backing of a piano and bass.

Megon, who lives in Northfield, also plans to highlight the music of several Chicago-area songwriters in her set. In addition to her own original music, Megon will perform songs by John Prine of Maywood, Jim Peterik of Berwyn, Fred Simon of Chicago and others.
