NU Student Advisory Board Free Movie Music Concert

The Bienen School of Music Student Advisory Board and Northwestern's Center for Leadership are sponsoring an evening of music from popular film scores, performed by students from Northwestern University, Northwestern’s Music Academy, the People’s Music School, and the Evanston community.

Highlights include music from Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Up.

Admission is free. Roderick Cox, Deanna Tham, and Frank Watkins, conductors.

The mission that drives the production of this concert stems from the idea of improving "town-gown" relations between the Evanston community and Northwestern University; the school hopes to attract an audience beyond the normal Pick Staiger concert crowd, and they also hope to encourage Bienen students to continue to bring their music to the community at large. The concert is free and open to the public; however, the school will be accepting donations for The People's Music School, a non-profit organization that provides free music lessons and music theory education to low-income children in the Chicago area.
