CHICAGO – March 12, 2012 – Spex, Chicago’s ‘Best Eyewear Store’* and premier destination for luxury eyewear and sunwear, holds their next “Art+Vision” event with photography from Corinne Torkelson. The opening reception is on Thursday, April 12 from 5-8 pm, at 2000 Central Street, Evanston, IL, 60201; 847 864 0300. The work will be on view through May 24, 2012. Light refreshments will be served. A trunk show featuring l.a. Eyeworks eyewear and sunwear collection will be previewed during the reception.

Spex invites photojournalist Corinne Torkelson to showcase her passion for photography. Ms. Torkelson has been pointing cameras to “capture life at a different angle” for over 25 years. Her early apprenticeships under master photographers throughout North America, Europe and Australia provided her with a strong technical and creative foundation. As a traveling photojournalist, her work has appeared in numerous international magazines and publications. Since settling in the Chicago area, Corinne has established a reputation for an energetic style that captures the authentic essence of her subjects. A former teacher and mother of two, her passion for children and family photography is reflected in both her studio and outdoor portraiture.
