Spex on Dempster St. holds a grand re-opening party on May 13.

Spex, Chicagoland’s premier destination for luxury eyewear and sunwear, holds a grand re-opening party for their Evanston location at 522 Dempster St., Evanston, IL. The event will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 5-8 pm. The store underwent a remodel which doubled its size to accommodate higher traffic and larger inventory. During the event, DJ Resident Alien will be spinning music while guests enjoy pizza courtesy of Union Pizza in Evanston. Gift bags valued at $100 will be offered to the first 25 guests. This evening marks the opening reception of the next “Art+Vision” installment featuring photography by Sue Dahlkamp. Her work will be on view until June 24. A trunk show with l.a. Eyeworks will also take place.

Customers visiting the newly expanded location will find a range of German, French, Japanese and Danish eyewear. Available eyewear lines include Seraphin, Lafont, Lindberg, l.a. Eyeworks, Ray Ban, OGI and Prada. Many of these products are handmade, on-trend, and sought-after by eyewear fans seeking something new and unique.  To complete the experience, Spex offers unsurpassed optical expertise and eye exams from an in-house board-certified optometrist. Manager Laura Bloom says, “The grand re-opening will offer our clients a chance to be the first to preview all of the new pieces we now carry from some very unique eyewear lines. We’ll have a larger selection of fabulous eyewear, sunglasses and accessories. Don’t miss it!
