The Johnny Mercer Songwriters Showcase

The Johnny Mercer Foundation and the American Music Theatre Project produce a weeklong songwriting intensive for emerging songwriters and writing teams, ages 18-30, each summer on the campus of Northwestern University. Now in its seventh year, The Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project hosts the nation's most promising songwriters across all genres including musical theatre, pop, country, Latin, rock, and contemporary pop.  The six-day program of master classes and workshops will culminate in a showcase of new works by participant songwriters (June 22) and a star-studded celebration concert (June 23).

Don't miss this annual celebration of new writers in pop, folk, jazz, country, and music theatre!  In this intimate one-evening-only Songwriters Showcase hosted by our 2012 Master Teachers Craig Carnelia (Tony-nominated composer and lyricist), Andrew Lippa (Grammy-nominated composer and lyricist) and Lari White (Grammy-winning singer and songwriter), original music will be performed by emerging songwriters from all over the country.
