’Twas brillig…: Art show features work by Evanston K-12 students

On Thursday, January 19, Evanston Township High School will host the Districts 65 and 202 Art Exhibit and Visual Arts Open House featuring the combined work of young artists from kindergarten through 12th grade in the Evanston public schools. All the pieces in the art show are Interpretations of Louis Carroll’s nonsense poem “The Jabberwocky” found in his 1872 novel Through the Looking Glass. Over 250 amazing young artists will be represented at the exhibit, which is free and open to the public.

The art show will open at 7pm in the ETHS Auditorium Gallery and will kick off with a welcoming reception featuring student recitations of the poem and guest speaker Carla Kenny Phillips. The evening will also feature tours of the visual arts classrooms at ETHS. For more information contact the ETHS Fine Arts Office at 847-424-7130.
