Young Lovers Tryst in Ridgeville Park

The Arc Theatre company will perform Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet" in the park beginning this Saturday, July 14.

The classic tragedy of two young lovers comes to in Evanston this summer, for the third year of "Shakespeare on the Ridge."

On Saturdays and Sundays from July 14 to August 5, the Arc Theatre Company will perform Romeo and Juliet at 7 p.m. in the park at 908 Seward St. Hosted by the Ridgeville Cultural Development Foundation, the 90-minute performances are presented free of charge.

Shakespeare lovers should also mark their calendars for the last weekend in July, when the Mudlark Theatre Company presents A Midsummer Night's Dream, taking place in Ridgeville Park as well. With a cast of actors aged 11 to 15, the performances take place at 7 p.m. Friday, July 27, and at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29.
