Two months after Hardy Murphy abruptly resigned as District 65 superintendent, the school board is beginning the process of finding a replacement.
Board members will hold a special meeting Monday to hear proposals from four search firms who responded to the district’s request for proposals.
Murphy resigned in August after 13 years as superintendent of schools, announcing that he was going to pursue consulting opportunities instead.
The search firms under consideration include ECRA/Hazard, Young & Attea of Rosemont, b.w.p. & Associates of Libertyville, School Exec Connect of Highland Park and Ray & Associates of St. Charles. ECRA submitted the lowest bid for the search process, at $14,500, while b.w.p. submitted the highest bid, at $17,900. The other two search firms both submitted bids of $16,500.
After hearing presentations from all four search firms, board members are expect to vote on a selection. The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in the Joseph E. Hill Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave. in Evanston.
