NorthShore Evanston Hospital to Host Free Event Dedicated to Lynch Syndrome Hereditary Cancer Awareness
March 22 is Lynch Syndrome Hereditary Cancer Awareness Day, dedicated to raise awareness about an inherited condition that increases risk for colon, uterine and other cancers.
In honor of the awareness day, NorthShore Evanston Hospital is hosting a special screening event on Tuesday, March 20 for people who may be at risk for Lynch Syndrome. NorthShore’s Certified Genetic Counselors will offer free consultations, review your personal and family history of cancer, and help you to determine if genetic testing or additional screening is right for you.
You’ll have the opportunity to speak with a dietician, representatives from NorthShore’s Gastroenterology program and local advocacy groups—CCARE, Lynch Syndrome International and the Chicago Center for Jewish Genetic Disorders. Free diabetes and blood pressure screenings will also be available.
