National Prescription Drug Take Back is Saturday

The City of Evanston will accept expired or unwanted prescription pills this Saturday

The City of Evanston will participate in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Prescription Drug Take-back Day this Saturday by accepting residents’ expired, unused and unwanted prescription and over-the counter drugs.

The event will be held in the westernmost parking lot, and the first 100 residents to deliver their unwanted pills will receive a free medication lock box that encourages safe prescription drug storage at home.

According to a City of Evanston announcement, during last year’s National Prescription Drug Take-back Day, Americans turned in more than 377,086 pounds of medication.
