5 Evanston Companies Ranked Among Fastest-Growing In U.S., Says 'Inc.'

An Evanston-based real estate firm, a company that specializes in direct mailings and telecommunications business are included in the magazine's list of top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies.

Five Evanston companies have been named among the 5,000 fastest-growing, independently-owned businesses in the country, according to Inc. Magazine’s ‘2012 5000 List.’

Below, take a closer look at the Evanston-based companies that made the list, including where they ranked and how much revenue they earned. The magazine also lists percent growth and number of employees.

To rank businesses across the country, Inc. looks at percentage revenue growth from 2008 to 2011.

To qualify, companies must meet a list of criteria including minimum revenue, specified founding date and for-profit requirements, among others. Companies on this year’s list report having created more than 400,000 jobs in the past three years with a combined revenue of $299 billion, according to Inc. Despite a downward economy, median growth rate of the 2012 honorees was 97 percent.

"Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500/5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs, and drive the economy forward," shared Inc. magazine Editor Eric Schurenberg in a recent statement. "Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is.”
