9 of Chicago's '40 Under 40' Have Evanston Ties
Crain's list of the top young innovators and entrepreneurs of 2013 includes many Northwestern grads and others with Evanston ties.
Crain's Chicago Business recently released its annual list of "40 Under 40," highlighting innovators and entrepreneurs from around the city.
Evanston is well represented.
Among the 40 people on the list, at least nine have ties to Evanston, according to Patch's unofficial count.
That includes:
- Atul Khosla, Northwestern grad and COO of the Chicago Fire
- Mike McGee, Northwestern grad and Starter League co-founder
- Neal Sales-Griffin, Starter League co-founder and Northwestern grad
- Iliana Mora, COO of Erie Family Health Center, which just opened in Evanston
- Elizabeth Gerber, design professor at Northwestern University
- Veronica Roth, Northwestern grad and author of the "Divergent" trilogy
- Courtney VanLonkhuyzen, lawyer for Motorola Mobility and Northwestern Law School grad
- Kelly Amonte-Hiller, head coach of the Northwestern women's lacrosse team
- Heather Brilliant, global director of equity and credit research with Morningstar and an NU grad
