And the Winner for the Best Mother's Day Brunch in Evanston is...

We asked for your opinions in our weekly Readers' Choice series. Here are the results.

This is a first!

competition ended in an unprecedented three-way tie, as Evanston Patch readers voted and reviewed , and as the best spots in Evanston to get Mother’s Day brunch.

Though Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop, 825 Church St., easily won Patch’s poll with 29 percent of the vote, Blind Faith Café, 525 Dempster St., and Fraiche, 815 Noyes Ave., each received enthusiastic, five-star reviews in our business directory.

Reader Jonathan Wolf outdoor seating and healthy fare:

Especially in the spring/summer when you can sit at the outdoor tables, Blind Faith is a treasure. Features a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan brunch dishes, entrees, vegetable side dishes, and incredible desserts. Not cheap, but well worth it.

Reader Mayre Press on its fresh ingredients:

Though this location is tiny, its flavors are huge! Their ingredients are the freshest (as the name implies). Frittatas, omelets and other egg dishes are excellent. Save room for something sweet.

And though Dixie Kitchen did not receive any business directory reviews, reader ‘Evanstonian’ supported the eatery in the piece’s comment section:

I'll take the Dixie Kitchen over any of these -- including Walker Brothers -- any day of the week and twice on Sundays! Yummmmmm grits.

Thanks to everyone who participated. Stay tuned for next week’s Readers’ Choice topic!
