I'd like to cast a vote for our local small businesses, who help give Evanston its great sense of community.

Hip Circle Studio! Wide variety of workout/dance/fitness classes AND kid-friendly stuff, too. Also, kudos to Malik for bravely STARTING (and growing!) a small business in this economy.

Huh, Not a single business that actually produces anything.

Hip circle was the place that taught my body to move. Ive been a runner and always in straight lines. Belly dancing and Zumba has got me going in all directions and I love working out with the groups at Hip Circle! Go Malik! And Lyna rocks at Zumba

See Jane Sparkle is the place to go for beautiful, original pieces of jewelry. I also love seeing Sarajane,(owner). Great personality and fun to work with, when you want something original.

Mike Kreuser July 07, 2012 at 03:50 PM
My opinion? Edzo's is the best burger, Cross Rhodes is the family restaurant, and Bills is still the best hot dog. Thanks for the opportunity.
Ed July 08, 2012 at 02:07 PM
The best place for clothes--men's or women's--is Let's Tailgate! Where else can you find such a great assortment of NU apparel?
Dan Feld July 08, 2012 at 06:26 PM
Wiener and Still Champion easily has the best burger and hot dog in Evanston. I'd always choose WaSC over Edzo's, no hesitation.

Evanston Whole Foods Market South gets our vote as the Best Disability Aware Business in Evanston. They provide great customer service to all who need or want it and they have employees with disabilities. Now, that's the best!

Lucky Platter has been consistently good since it opened. It is creative in decor (funky folk art 50's), wait staff are quick and friendly, and the food is interesting, dare I say tasty, and always fresh. Prices are very reasonable, and a steal in some cases.

Tommy Nevin's for a reliably good kitchen, a vast assortment of draft beer, great wait staff, a generous points program, live music, pool, and darts-- always fun and friendly.

Classy, elegant and professional. SLK on Maple is the place to go where hair care is as important as hair styles.
