Restaurant Lao Sze Chuan is coming soon to 1633 Orrington Ave., according to a sign in the window.
Owned by Tony Gourmet Group, the restaurant replaces a Mediterranean spot called Pomegranate.
Evanston's Lao Sze Chuan is one of 13 restaurants owned by Tony Gourmet Group in Chicago and the suburbs, according to the sign. Several are located in Chinatown, including Lao Hunan and Lao Beijing.
Restaurateur Tony Hu told the Daily Northwestern earlier this year that he plans to bring authentic Chinese cuisine to Evanston with dishes such as spicy hot pot and boiled beef in spicy Sichuan sauce
The restaurant chain earned ratings by Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2012 and 2013, according to the sign.
