Dempster and Dodge Starbucks to Be Considered Tuesday

The Zoning Board of Appeals will discuss the proposed coffee shop in the former KFC space.

The Starbucks proposed for the former KFC at Dempster and Dodge will be discussed Tuesday night at the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting.

The proposed Starbucks at 1901 Dempster is seeking a drive-thru as well.

“Not only will this addition provide residents, students and visitors with another option for coffee and snacks, it's a statement that Dempster/Dodge development is moving in a positive direction. While there is more work to be done, the addition of Starbucks will provide momentum to our continued efforts to bring high quality retail and services to the area,” 2nd Ward Ald. Peter Braithwaite said in an email to constituents last month when the proposal was announced.

The ZBA makes a recommendation to the City Council, which will make the final decision on the proposal.

The guy who 'needs to exercise greater control over content' and who carries a gun everywhere also has problems with civil discourse. No surprise.

It would be refreshing to read a comment thread on Patch that doesn't get hijacked into a debate about guns. It has really gotten out of hand.
