The segment shows mouth-watering burgers, fries and shakes being made in the bustling lunch spot at 1571 Sherman Ave. by owner Eddie Lakin and his staff.
The restaurant was suggested for the show by Northwestern student Amber Gibson, who proclaims it the best food in Evanston. “For a burger purist, Edzo’s is as good as it gets,” says Gibson, who recommends a medium-rare burger topped with fried egg and cheese, accompanied by garlic fries (unless you’re on a date) and a shake.
The Daily Northwestern reported that Edzo’s saw lines out the door over the weekend, and served up between 1,200 and 1,500 burgers.
The segment talks about Lakin’s philosophy in opening a restaurant that only serves lunch so that he can have dinner with his family every night.
