Wine and Dine – Raise a Glass to the Kendall College Charitable Trust

Chicago, IL – The time is approaching to formally celebrate the impact that the Kendall College Charitable Trust (KCCT) has made on October 30th at its Gourmet Dining Event. The Kendall College Charitable Trust helps provide the next generation of talented chefs, business leaders, hospitality innovators and forward thinking educators.  The Kendall College Charitable Trust Gourmet Dining Event will be emceed by Christopher Koetke, host of “Let’s Dish” and Executive Director of the Culinary School at Kendall College and the Trust’s executive director Robin Malpass. 


The evening will feature gourmet dining stations and interactive cooking demonstrations by Kendall alumni chefs from notable Chicago restaurants including, such as:



  • Jennifer Jones, Pastry Chef  Frontera Grill and Topolobampo


Named the Chicago Tribune’s Pastry Chef of the Year in 2011.

  • Bradford Phillips, Executive Chef/Partner LM Restaurant


Formerly of Blackbird, Tru, NoMI and Gordon, among others, Chef Phillips has over a decade of experience working in some of the most prestigious kitchens in Chicago.



  • Ryan Pitts, Executive Chef RL Restaurant   


Chef Pitts has been executing the vision of Ralph Lauren’s venture into the culinary world for more than 10 years.

Prior to opening Pecking Order, Chef Subido earned sterling reviews from critics and diners alike as the former executive chef of Wave at the W Hotel Chicago.

An advocate of culinary arts and nutrition fusion, Chef Ryan is a principle of FIT City Chicago, an initiative engaging Chicago chefs and restaurants to offer healthy choices for diners.

Chef Piper helped oversee Trattoria’s No.10 to become one of the first restaurants in Chicago to become “Guaranteed Green.”

Besides being an acclaimed chef, she is also known as being a culinary educator introducing Chicagoans that delicious food does not have to be intimating.


These former Kendall College students, turned shining professionals, will be demonstrating the skills they learned while in school by creating a dazzling array of scrumptious delicacies for guests of the event to enjoy. 


At the event guests are invited to bid on a wide variety of one-of-a-kind experiences and priceless items.  Prior to the event, guests will have the opportunity to bid online to experience every food lover’s dream; the opportunity to don a personalized Kendall College chef’s jacket and work side by side with some of Chicago’s finest chef.


“Having taught sustainable tourism classes at Kendall College I have seen first hand just how hard working and dedicated these students are to their craft,” said Robin Malpass, Kendall College Charitable Trust executive director.  “It’s truly moving to see how passionate they are about what they do and I treasure every opportunity I have to give back and help support their dreams.”


Scholarships from the Kendall College Charitable Trust are available for students in career programs who have completed their first year of study that includes business, education, hospitality and culinary studies. In fact, 80 scholarship recipients received grants totaling over $240,000 for the 2012-2013 academic year. In the past three years, the program has awarded $600,000 to 176 recipients in the past three years to non-traditional students. The city of Chicago is so excited about this event that Mayor Rahm Emmanuel has declared October 30th “Kendall College Charitable Trust Day” for such the impact the scholarship program has made in the lives of so many Chicagoans.


WHEN:  Tuesday, October 30th



  • 5:30 p.m.: Pre-event VIP access to celebrity chef alumni, special tastings and intimate Q&A

  • 6:30 p.m.: Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and silent auction

  • 7:00 p.m. : Gourmet foods prepared by celebrity alumni chefs at specialty dining stations
