Evanston Golf Club Top Contender to Host Champions Tour
Glenview's North Shore Country Club is also under consideration for Champions hosting duties. Conway Farms in Lake Forest was recently picked to host the 2013 BMW Championship.
Evanston and Skokie may be in for some major golf excitement if the can snag a hosting title for the Champions Tour next June.
The Club is one of several local contenders being considered as hosts of the event, Crain’s Chicago Business reported Tuesday.
in Glenview is also under consideration for the Champions, a tour comprising players from the 50+ age group including big timers like Tom Watson, Fred Couples, Jay Haas, Fred Funk and Tom Lehman.

Sponsor Encompass Insurance (a division of Allstate) said they plan to take the tournament to Chicago in 2013 and “beyond,” Crain’s reports.
