Felony Franks Considers Move to Evanston

A former Chicago hot dog stand that offers employment to ex-offenders is considering opening in Evanston's second ward.

The hot dog stand Felony Franks, known for giving ex-offenders a job and selling "Misdemeanor Wieners," is considering a move to Evanston.

After the restaurant closed up shop in Chicago, owner Jim Andrews met with second ward residents to discuss a potential new location this week, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Few attendees at the meeting opposed the mission of the hot dog stand, which is designed to give those with a criminal record a second chance, according to the Tribune. Some, however, said names like the "Misdemeanor Wiener" and "Probation Burger" might offend--and might give the wrong impression about the second ward.
