Health Food Cafe Considering Downtown Evanston

Protein Bar, which has locations around the suburbs, is looking into opening a store at 1622 Sherman Ave. downtown.

Evanston residents looking for quick and healthy dining options downtown may soon have one more place to choose from.

Protein Bar, a cafe that specializes in healthy, high-protein foods, is considering a move to 1622 Sherman Ave., according to city documents.

PB Restaurants LLC, which owns Protein Bar, has submitted a special user permit to open a cafe next to L.A. Fitness and Lululemon. The restaurant currently has 8 locations in the city of Chicago, one in Schaumburg and one opening soon in Oakbrook, according to its website. 

The menu includes burritos, bowls, salads, chilis and blended drinks.
