With a gleaming new red espresso machine, old motorcycle posters decorating the walls and tables built of thick, knotted wood planks, La Macchina Cafe officially opened for business in Evanston this week.
Located at 1620 Orrington Ave., the Italian-style restaurant and cafe serves coffee and espresso, as well as lunch, dinner and even wine and cocktails. Menu items include minestrone soup, pear and arugula salad and various types of specialty Italian meats and cheeses, according to the La Macchina Facebook page.
Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
