Michelin Rated Farmhouse Restaurant Coming to Evanston

The River North 'craft tavern' plans to open an Evanston restaurant in May.

Farmhouse, a farm-to-table-style restaurant in Chicago's River North neighborhood, is planning to open an Evanston branch of the restaurant in May, the restaurant said on Twitter.

"Our first Tweet for Farmhouse Evanston..lots to come. OPening in May hopefully!" the Tweet says.

The restaurant specializes in Midwestern food, beer and wine. It was recently included in the prestigious 2013 Michelin Guide Chicago, according to the restaurant's website.

The Evanston restaurant will move into 703 Church St., according to Crain's Chicago Business.

On its website, Farmhouse describes itself as: "a Midwestern Craft Tavern specializing in local food and drink. We are a farm to tavern restaurant, making all of our own burgers, condiments, and sodas from scratch. And with more than 28 craft beers on tap we are sure you will find something special to wash it all down. We are also the only tavern in the country to serve great Michigan wines on tap."
