Trader Joe's Watch: Facade Work Underway
See what's going on at 1211 Chicago Ave., site of a new Trader Joe's store coming to Evanston.
Construction is nearly complete on the new Trader Joe's on Chicago Avenue in Evanston.
The store is expected to open 1211 Chicago Ave. in late August or early September, according to Scott Gendell, president of Terraco, Inc., developer of the site. Gendell said Terraco Inc. is currently constructing the façade of the building, which will be made of slate and composite wood material.
Despite the fact that it hasn't opened yet, the store already has a rave review on Yelp! "I've grown up with Trader Joe's in every corner of my hometown and I promise it is a perfect, adorable place to buy healthy groceries. I can't wait for Trader Joe's! - the friendly, people-loving version of Whole Foods,” wrote Yelp user Mercy M.
