Upscale Restaurant Guildhall Coming to Glencoe

Guildhall will open its doors in Glencoe on March 19, featuring a seasonal menu from executive chef Christian

Evanston's restaurant scene is getting some competition in Glencoe, where chef Christian Ragano (NoMI, Tru) is heading a new, upscale restaurant called Guildhall, opening March 19.

Ragano will serve as executive chef in partnership with general manager Phil Marienthal, who previously owned several local restaurants, including Blue Mesa in Chicago. The restaurant will feature a seasonal, locally sourced menu, and will be located in downtown Glencoe at 694 Vernon Ave.

"The restaurant has a metropolitan feel and a menu that is unique to any other dining destination in the area," Marienthal said in a press release. "We want Guildhall to be a place people call their second dining room throughout the week."

The 3000 square-foot restaurant is being designed by the same firm that did Girl & the Goat and GT Fish & Oyster, according to Chicago Eater. The owners are planning to use furnishings that match the historic building at 694 Vernon Ave. in Glencoe.

Guildhall will serve dinner nightly and brunch on Sundays. The extensive menu will feature dishes such as Grilled Quail with Onion Soubise, Market Catch Crudo with Japanese Citrus, Granny Smith Apple and Jalapeno and Rack of Lamb with Housemade Merguez Sausage, Chickpeas and Piquillo Pepper Ragu Sauce.
