Video: Sniffing Around the Veolia Waste Transfer Station

Evanston Patch rode along with a City of Evanston Health Department inspector during a daily visit to the area surrounding the controversial Veolia Waste Transfer Station.

Almost every day since last November, Ashley McIlwee of the City of Evanston’s Health Department has made her way over to the Veolia Waste Transfer Station, located at 1711 Church Street, to inspect the nearby area for trash, rodents, airborne dust and foul odors.

Her inspection is the City’s response to neighborhood complaints that the Veolia station has in or lowered the quality of life .

Recently, Evanston Patch tagged along with McIlwee during one of her daily examinations. Click the video on the right to view the story.
