Oceanique To Host Annual Champagne Extravaganza, December 19
Oceanique Restaurant, 505 Main
Street, Evanston, Illinois (847-864-3435), will host their Annual
Champagne Extravaganza at
7:00 p.m., December 19 , featuring several champagnes, including the
1996 Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin "La Grande Dame". The dinner will
feature a 6-course menu prepared by chef/owner Mark Grosz. The price is $225
per person, excluding tax and gratuity.
Oceanique's New Year's Eve Celebration is a Feast for Food and Wine Lovers
Oceanique also will be the gracious host of a special 5-course dinner celebration on New Year's Eve, Tuesday, December 31. The evening will feature Chef Mark Grosz's specially-designed menu of globally inspired seasonal dishes. The price of the 5-course meal is $99 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Dinner will be served on New Year's Eve from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The regular menu will not be available on this day.
The evening begins with a Chef's Surprise first course, paired with a complimentary Champagne toast. The second course features a choice of six dishes: Wild Maine Day Boat Scallops with Cilantro, Lobster-Soy Broth and Kimchi; Chilled Maine Browne's Point Oysters with Jalapeño-Red Onion Salsa and Seaweed Salad; Butternut Squash Ravioli with Fennel, Prosciutto, Crispy Sage and Walnuts; Wild Maine Lobster with Bufala Mozzarella, Caviar, Basil, and Avocado ; Pear with Maytag Blue Cheese with Red Watercress, Pecans and Buttermilk; and Calamari Shrimp with Daikon Radish, Candied Ginger & Lemon Sake.
Following a refreshing intermezzo course, Oceanique presents the main course, with a choice of five entrées: Organic Spanish Turbot with Sea Beans, Purple Potatoes, Ginger and Lemongrass; Organic Icelandic Arctic Char with Elote, Butternut Squash, Turmeric and Poblano; Nebraska Prime Filet Mignon with Escargot, Purple Potatoes, Chanterelles and Red Onion; Organic California Sturgeon with Chanterelles, Bacon, Turnip and Eggplant; and Eggplant with Heirloom Carrots, Chanterelles, Cippolinis and Leek-Basil Broth.
The evening concludes with a pastry selection from Oceanique's artisanal dessert kitchen.
Oceanique, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2014 (February 5, 2014), is one of Chicago area's finest and most acclaimed restaurants, serving contemporary French-American cuisine in a beautiful, new dining room. The restaurant is owned by Chef Mark Grosz and his wife, Renée André. The Pastry Chef is Abel Garcia and the Wine Director is Philippe André. The bar area has been expanded and features a new small plates menu to accompany the fine selection of wines, craft beers and artisan cocktails. Guests are encouraged to enjoy a casual meal in the bar area or enjoy the full à la carte and dégustation menus in the dining room. The bar even includes a communal table to encourage single dining or groups.
Oceanique serves dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday and from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
