We had more than 30 captions submitted for the photo of a dog howling on the road in last week's Caption This contest.

The Patch judges awarded title of best caption to Smart TV Studios for "It wasn't me this time, I swear!"

Both Smart TV Studios and Jon Tiso, who submitted the excellent photo, will get a digital copy of the photo with the caption affixed. You can click on the thumbnail above to see what it looks like.

For next week, we’ve got a photo of a cat sitting in a pan, sent in by reader Roxi Crawford. You can start submitting your funniest caption ideas now.

Here’s how it works:

* In the comments section below, write in your best idea for a funny caption for this photo. Comments must be in by noon Friday.

* The esteemed Patch judges will pick our favorite and announce it Monday, along with a new photo to caption.

* Both the caption writer and the reader who submitted the photo will get an emailed copy of the captioned photo.
