Central Street Improvement Project Starts April 15

The project takes place on Central Street between Cowper Avenue and Central Park Avenue and is expected to be completed by mid June.

 

Construction on Central Street between Cowper Avenue and Central Park Avenue is set to start on April 15 and last through mid June, according to a press release. 

The project involves widening existing sidewalk on the south side of the street to improve pedestrian access, adding accessible ramps at the intersections, replacing existing curbs, roadway base repair, asphalt surface from curb to curb and selected sidewalk and driveway aprons.

When temporary daytime no parking is in effect, street sweeping and neighborhood parking restrictions will be waived for a one-block radius around the construction zone. 

Property owners should mark any sprinkler systems with a red flag before construction starts to prevent damage.

Street, Driveway Access

Central Street will have one travel lane in each direction at all times during construction. Residents will be provided advanced notice of any driveway closures. 

Parking

No parking restrictions will be intermittent throughout the daytime in the construction zone but parking will always be available from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.
