Dajae's Funeral Services Set for Saturday

Wake and funeral to be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at First Church of God Christian Life Center in Evanston.

Funeral services for 14-year-old Dajae Coleman, whose shooting death in Evanston has caputured nationwide attention, are set for this Saturday, Sept. 22.

The services for the Evanston Township High School freshman will held one week after he was shot on the streets of Evanston while walking home from a party with friends.

They will be held at First Church of God Christian Life Center, 1524 Simpson Street Evanston.

There will be a wake from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.

Several sources still are collecting funds for Dajae Coleman’s family, to help offset funeral costs and other expenses.

 has established a fund, which people can donate to here.

Evanston Township High School also has a fund established for Coleman's family in his honor.

There was also a fundraiser held Thursday at Caffee Sunset in Chicago, with proceeds going to Coleman's family.
