Evanston Declares Snow Emergency Wednesday, Thursday

The city of Evanston has declared a snow emergency between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7, meaning residents must abide by alternate side parking restrictions.

The city of Evanston has declared a snow emergency in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7, according to a press release from the city.

Declaration of a snow emergency means that residents who park on any street not designated as a snow route must abide by the city’s even/odd side parking bans. The city has already issued a snow route parking ban for Tuesday night, which means residents must abide by the red, white and blue “Snow Route” signs that bar parking on certain streets between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. after a 2-inch snowfall. For a detailed look at the snow route, check out this map.

On streets that are not designated snow routes, parking is prohibited on the even-numbered side on Wednesday, March 6. Parking is prohibited on the odd-numbered side on Thursday, March 7.
