Fundraiser Thursday for Dajae Coleman's family

Event at Caffee Sunset will help with funeral expenses for family. The 14 year old was shot and killed Saturday night in Evanston.

There will be a fundraiser Thursday to help the family of Dajae Coleman in the wake of his death,

Friends, family and even those who never knew the boy, but are touched by his passing, are organizing and planning to attend the fundraiser.

Dajae was shot and killed Saturday night on the streets of Evanston after leaving a party.

All proceeds will go to Dajae’s family for funeral expenses.

The event will take place Tbursday at Caffé Sunset, 5726 Western Ave. in Chicago.

It will run from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. The cost is $10, and you must be 21 to enter.

Although it is for people age 21 and over, organizers say everyone is welcome to stop at the door and give a donation, even if they don’t enter the fundraiser.

Organizers are asking everyone who comes to wear orange and blue in Dajae’s honor.
