More Snow Expected Overnight in Evanston

City plow crews are preparing for up to one inch of snow that is predicted to fall early Thursday morning.

After a dusting of snow fell on Evanston Thursday morning, city officials are preparing for more snowfall overnight and into Friday morning.

Forecasters predicted up to one inch of snow, most likely falling between 3 and 10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight temperatures are expected to dip to the teens, with a wind chill values as low as 4 degrees.

The city's overnight plow crew is ready to spring into action and will work until 7 a.m., when the day crew will take over, according to city spokesperson Eric Palmer. A sidewalk crew will begin clearing pathways downtown and for commuters by 6 a.m., he said.
