Two Evanston Bedrooms Featured In 'Apartment Therapy' Contest

Two Evanston homes are included in a Bedroom Retreat contest held by Apartment Therapy, a popular interior design blog. Vote for the entries today!

Two Evanston residents have been selected to compete in Apartment Therapy's "My Bedroom Retreat" contest. The contest, sponsored by Leggett and Platt, aims to find the best bedroom in America. Readers can vote on their favorite to enter the final round, which ends on April 1. Readers can vote in the final round from April 2 to April 3.

The first Evanston bedroom, an entry called "Helen's Renew and Restore Bedroom," features light gray walls and a large, pillow-covered bed. Helen's entry had 105 votes at the time of publication.

"It's ok to splurge on a good mattress and bedding!" Helen said in the survey attached to her entry. "Sleep is our opportunity to renew and restore ourselves, and its ok to put resources towards having a good space to rest."

The second Evanston bedroom, called "Mardy's Sleep Under the Stars Bedroom," has large, titled skylights and colorful blankets. At the time of publication, Mardy's room has 95 votes. 

"It is so small that it only contains a bed, no closet or dresser," Mardy wrote in her survey on her entry. "We sleep under the stars with three skylights in the angled wall above the bed. It feels like a treehouse retreat."

Contest finalists will receive a $250 gift card and a Keurig coffee maker. The grand prize winner will receive a new bed, as well as $1,500 and an Apple iPad Mini.
