I know this is not a scientific poll, but it should be accurate.

I have been to allot of nail salons in Evanston, and I can say that only one handfull of them really follow the guidelines of keeping the equiptment and tools sanitized. It is wonderful to get a fabulous mani/pedi but, if you are at risk for a nail infection or fungus....it really takes away from the experience. How many ladies out there know what the proceedure actually is. Are you aware : All impliments should be in a wet sanitizer, files should be sprayed down with a disinfective or use a new one after every client, orange wood sticks should be thrown away after every client, pedi soaker bowl should be sprayed down with a disinfective and you should watch them do that before you soak your feet, nail clippings should fall into a towel on the operators lap and not on the floor,a new razor should be inserted into the calus and bottom of the foot scrapper and you should see that they do that( al though the state really frowns upon useing that impliment at all) Last, when you are through with your service your operator should be washing everything she used on you. Just thought I would let you gals know. I only have seen very few of the salons that you listed do any of this proceedure. Another thing...when you get waxed, there is NO double dipping of that stick in the pot of wax! A new one has to be used every time! State law!

Be sure to try Agora. It's spotless and the mani/pedis are really great. xo
