Bright Horizons Presents A Dilema for Some Evanstonians

Should our leaders celebrate or protest the opening of the Bright Horizons pre-school?

Well, this should certainly blow the mind of many Evanstonians!

The Patch today announced that Bright Horizons - one of the nation's largest commercial day care facilities - is opening a school right here in Evanston.

Michelle Obama has even praised Bright Horizons, saying:

"The Partnership for a Healthier America is working with private providers like Bright Horizons. That’s the nation’s second largest private child care provider, and they’re going to implement this checklist at nearly 600 child care centers across the country. So we already have commitments that are going to affect hundreds of thousands of children today. Again, that’s why we’re excited to be able to launch this."

What's the problem? Bright Horizons is one of the companies that Mitt Romney and Bain Capital helped start. (See Bright Horizons)

The ribbon cutting ceremony for Bright Horizon's Orrigton Facility is scheduled for September 17th. I hope they've invited the mayor, Rep. Schakowsky, Rep. Robyn Gabel (whom I will be beating in the November 6 election) to this ceremony marking the opening of this Romney enterprise. They won't know whether to celebrate or protest!

Ain't politics fun?
