A satisfying New Year's Eve planned at Evanston eateries

The Stained Glass invites hip cats, kooky chicks, guys and dolls to turn back the clock and celebrate New Year’s Eve in style via its swanky supper club atmosphere. On December 31, the swinging joint will offer Citrus Winter Cocktails and Oysters Rockefeller—and that’s just for starters! A special pre-fixe, three course dinner will be available for $55 with wine pairings for $30, while the award-winning restaurant's regular dishes may also be ordered.

Located in the heart of downtown Evanston, The Stained Glass Wine Bar and Bistro on 1735 Benson Avenue is three blocks east of Ridge and one block west of Sherman. For reservations, call 847/864-8600 or visit opentable.com.

Its sister restaurant The Cellar is located next door on 820 Clark Street. Known for its extensive beer list, shared plates and casual ambiance, the venue is embarking on the new year with a travel theme. Patrons are encouraged to view the establishment as their passport to 2014 as they enjoy French Martinis, Manhattans, Mojitos and Margaritas as well as global cuisine including New Year’s Eve Specials such as Hamachi Crudo. In other words, customers at The Cellar will experience countless countries in one night—with no reservations and no jet lag!
