Book Sale at Evanston Public Library

Come to the Evanston Public Library Fri. Dec. 9-Sun. Dec. 11 to explore gently-used and mint books, including childrens, travel, biography, cook books, health books, and more!

The Evanston Public Library will host its annual Holiday Book Sale on Friday, December 9 through Sunday, December 11. The sale features hundreds of items in excellent condition that would make great holiday gifts. It is also a place that booklovers can choose some great stories to escape into during the long winter season.

On Friday, December 9, the Book Sale runs from noon until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, December 11 from noon until 5:30 p.m., all books and media will be sold at half-price.

The book sale is entirely run by 14 dedicated volunteers and additional community supporters who take great pride in providing Evanston residents with a wide assortment of books and media. According to Book Sale Volunteer Barbara Handler, "We have over a dozen categories of books which are arranged by their sub-categories on our shelves... We also have CDs, DVDs, audio books and VHS tapes."

If you would like to get a sneak-peak before the doors officially open, the Special Preview Sale will be held on Friday, December 9 from 10 a.m. until noon. The admission to this special event is $5 per person.

All proceeds from the sale directly benefit the Evanston Public Library. The sale takes place in the third floor Book Sale room of the Main Library located at 1703 Orrington Avenue. For more information, call 847/448-8600.
