A Journey Back to Romania

In a special program to commemorate Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), Sheila Small will present her experience traveling back to Romania with her mother in 2008.

Her mother came to Israel from Romania in 1951  when she was 13 years old, and then immigrated to the United States in 1956.  Her identity developed in her childhood during and after the war.  So much of her life was affected because her father was killed when she was a baby. This trip fulfilled a life goal to go back and visit the grave of her father whom she did not know.  This presentation is open to all adults in our community and prepared for students in grades 5 and 6 and their parents.
