Beethoven's Beautiful Romances for Violin

At NSSC, Northfield Location:

Jim Kendros, Educator, Composer, & Music Researcher

In the early 1790s the young Beethoven settled in Vienna.
Eager to make his name known to influential patrons in the capital city of
music, he composed two masterpieces of breathtaking beauty: the romances for
violin and orchestra. Jim Kendros will explore these melodious gems, played by
world-class violinist Gil Shaham, and he will share with you the rondo form,
orchestral techniques used by Beethoven, and the life and times of this
immortal composer.
